Smiths Detection, one of three awardees for the potential $480 million contract to provide Multi-Energy Portal (MEP) systems to Customs and Border Protection, says that Viken Detection is on its team, providing backscatter imaging technology for the drive-through X-Ray inspection portals. The inclusion of Viken on Smiths’ MEP team was disclosed earlier this month in a LinkedIn post by Patrick Thompson, product manager with Smiths Detection.
