The United Kingdom’s defense secretary, Philip Hammond, said yesterday he is confident the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter is on the right track and will play a critical role in regenerating the country’s aircraft carrier strike capability. “I have assurances at the highest levels that this is a program that is now on track.
