Senate Panel Boosts DHS Funding Request, Adds Initial Funds For 10th NSC

The Senate Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee on Tuesday marked up a bill that would increase funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in FY ’17 and buy initial production materials for a 10th Coast Guard National Security Cutter (NSC).The markup includes $41.2 billion in discretionary spending for DHS, $578 million more than the Obama administration requested and $246 million more than enacted in FY ’16.
