RTX Wins $1.9 Billion Contract For U.S. And Japan SM-3 IIAs

The Missile Defense Agency on Thursday awarded RTX [RTX] a $1.94 billion contract to manufacture and assemble Standard Missile-3 missiles for both the U.S. and Japan. This award specifically covers Standard Missile-3 Block IIA All-Up Rounds (AUR) for the U.S. and Japan Ministry of Defense via Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirements.  Work will occur at the company’s facilities in Tucson, Ariz., and Huntsville, Ala., and is expected to be finished by February 2031.
