Raytheon Nabs Small DNDO Contract For Rail Car Nuke Detectors

The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) has awarded Raytheon [RTN] a $4.3 million contract to develop panels that can be used screen rail cars to detect nuclear weapons and other radiological materials. The contract would build on work Raytheon is currently doing for DNDO to develop the Advanced Spectroscopic Portal (ASP), a next-generation radiation detection monitor that would be used to screen cars, trucks and cargo containers.
