COVINGTON, Ky., January 14, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — TiER1 Performance Solutions, an employee-owned consulting firm and Certified B Corporation® that activates strategies through people, has been selected for participation in the U.S. Navy’s SeaPort Next Generation (SeaPort-NxG) multiple-award contract vehicle, which is estimated to annually award approximately $5 billion over the next 10 years.

TiER1 is one of 1,870 companies that were awarded 10-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, multiple-award contracts (MACs) for future competition in SeaPort-NxG. Under this contract, TiER1 will help the Navy activate their strategies through their people in systems and process engineering, test and evaluation, research and development, modeling, simulation, prototyping and analysis, system design documentation, analytical and organizational assessment and logistics, computer and information security, and systems analysis and management.

“We look forward to continuing to support the Navy over the coming years as they seek innovative solutions to human performance and learning challenges,” said Greg Harmeyer, TiER1 co-founder and CEO. “Our team of skilled consultants already brings a wealth of expertise in research and development to activate the Navy’s strategies through people.”

In 2018, TiER1 was awarded $3 million to research and develop new training innovations for the Navy. Current research and development work includes:

  • ATTICUS (Attentional Trainer to Improve Control of Unmanned Systems), a gamified adaptive training system for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operators to maintain attention and awareness during long shifts associated with extended UAS missions.
  • MedPM (Medical Performance Model), a modeling and analysis tool for identifying effective training methods and tools for combat medic procedures.
  • TARGET (Transformation Accelerated through Redesign, Guidance, and Enhanced Training), a performance support tool to facilitate the design of task-centered learning experiences based on innovative instructional approaches.
  • AWARE (Anti-air Warfare Awareness and Readiness Environment), a mobile, gamified learning simulation designed to create an integrated Naval battle force through a data-driven, competency-centric learning lifecycle.

Overall, TiER1 was awarded $5.8 million in 2018 and $1.5 million to date in 2019 for learning development, research, and performance consulting for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, Defense Health Agency, Defense Security Cooperation Agency, Missile Defense Agency, Department of Energy, Department of Transportation, and the National Institutes of Occupational Safety and Health.

“Our deep collaboration in the federal government research space has been crucial to our success as an organization,” Harmeyer said. “It’s a unique equation for success as it allows us to build innovations that also benefit our commercial clients.”
