Defense contractor Akima opens new office to serve Charleston-region contracts

SUMMERVILLE, S.C., Sept. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Today, federal contractor Akima announced the addition of its South Carolina location at The Offices at Nexton in Summerville.

Herndon, Virginia-based defense contractor, Akima, is currently leasing a 2,500 square-foot office space located at 201 Sigma Drive to better serve its regional contracts with the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic which designs, acquires, engineers and sustains the systems, sensor connections, cyber network infrastructures and knowledge management services for the U.S. Navy and other military agencies. The company has more than 7,500 employees worldwide and has been supporting work in the Charleston area for more than a decade.
