MDA Chooses Northrop Grumman For Hypersonic Defender Over RTX

The Missile Defense Agency on Wednesday selected Northrop Grumman [NOC] over RTX [RTX] to continue developing the counter-hypersonic missile defense program, the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI). MDA said this means Northrop Grumman will continue its work under the existing Other Transaction Agreement (OTA), which will lead to a follow-on development and production contract. “Today's decision represents a turning point for hypersonic glide phase defense.
