
The city of Long Beach California has received a nearly $4 million grant to offset the economic impact and job loss caused by the shuttering of the Boeing [BA] C-17 Globemaster aircraft production facility there.The $3.99 million grant is through the Defense Department’s Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA), which provides “community adjustment assistance” to cities facing reductions in local and regional defense industry jobs.
