Israel Successfully Tests Barak-8 Missile Defense System

The Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) completed a successful test of the Barak-8 Air and Missile Defense System on Monday, prime contractor Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) said. The Barak-8s are operated by the Israeli Defense Forces and the Indian military. The test scenario began with the launching of a target. After the target was detected by the system radar, the weapons system calculated the optimal interception point, launched the missile into the operational trajectory, and successfully intercepted it.
