Coast Guard Awards $952 Million Contract Mod To Bollinger To Complete First Polar Icebreaker

The Coast Guard on Tuesday awarded Bollinger Shipyards a $951.6 million contract modification to complete the detail design and construction of the first Polar Security Cutter (PSC), with work expected to be completed in May 2030. If delivery of the PSC also occurs in 2030, the Coast Guard’s first new heavy polar icebreaker will be six years late.
