Britain’s BAE Systems this week said it has agreed to acquire commercial cyber security service provider SilverSky for $232.5 million to grow its commercial cyber business. New York-based SilverSky provides cloud-managed security and application services as well as cloud-based email security and threat protection software. The company, which expects to have $75 million in sales this year, has more than 5,500 customers in the financial, healthcare, retail, energy, critical infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, mostly in the United States.
