The Air Force will deliver an initial operational capability (IOC) notice to Congress for the F-35A next week, a significant milestone in a key Defense Department program. Air Force spokesman Lt. Col. John Sheets said yesterday that the IOC declaration means the service will have enough aircraft and trained airmen to accomplish the mission of the F-35A, the Air Force’s conventional variant.
