Air Force Postpones NASA SMAP Launch Until Friday

The Air Force said it postponed NASA’s Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission until Friday due to an upper level wind constraint.Launch will take place at 9:20 a.m. EST from Vandenberg AFB, Calif. Liftoff was originally scheduled for Thursday. Launch will take place on a Delta II rocket provided by United Launch Alliance (ULA), a joint venture of Lockheed Martin [LMT] and Boeing [BA]. SMAP will will produce global maps of soil moisture, which will help improve the United States’ understanding…
