Air Force Having Problems With Subcontract Management, Acquisition Chief Says

The Air Force is having problems with subcontract management across its line of programs, the service’s acquisition chief said Wednesday. Air Force Assistant Secretary for Acquisition Lt. Gen. Charles Davis said the root of the problem is companies bidding for programs they have little expertise in as prime contractors, then farming the work out to subcontractors while providing little oversight because they have “very little vested interest” in it. “It’s OK in some cases if companies don’t bid,” Davis told…
