USAF Awards Raytheon $497 Million Contract For 50 AMRAAMs, Other Missiles, Support

The Air Force awarded Raytheon [RTN] a $497.1 million firm-fixed-price contract recently to procure 50 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM). According to Air Force spokesman Capt. Matthew Stines, delivery of these missiles start February 2014 and all are to be delivered by Jan. 31, 2015. The Defense Department said the contract is for “missiles, instrumentation units, test equipment, guidance sections, hardware and contractor logistics support,” according to a March 30 statement.
