Textron Bids New Cottonmouth For Marine Corps ARV Prototype

Textron Inc. submitted its prototype offering for the Marine Corps’ Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) program, a purpose-built vehicle it named the Cottonmouth, the company revealed Tuesday. The ARV effort began as a Marine Corps effort to replace the Light Armored Vehicle-25 (LAV-25), originally built by General Dynamics [GD] and in use since the 1980s, with the new vehicles to be used in light armor reconnaissance battalions.
