Space Force To Undertake Pilot Acquisition Reform Program, Appropriators Say

Under language in the fiscal 2026 defense appropriations conference bill, the Space Force would undertake a pilot program for the Pentagon in the development of sustained program expertise. In April last year, the Modernizing Defense Acquisitions and Spurring Innovation in the Defense Industrial Base executive order said that the Pentagon within two months was to send the White House an acquisition reform plan that would use "existing authorities to expedite acquisitions throughout the Department of Defense, including a first preference…
