
Science Applications International Corp. [SAIC] on Monday posted a decline in first quarter earnings due to higher expenses and a cost overrun on a space program while sales edged higher on work with federal civilian agencies. Net income tumbled 12 percent to $68 million, $1.42 earnings per share (EPS), from $77 million ($1.48 EPS), a year ago.
