FAIRBORN, Ohio, Dec. 04, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The PERFECT-3D Division of Renaissance Services, Inc. was honored by R&D Magazine at a recent awards event in Orlando. The magazine, recognized as the leading journal for the research and development community, selected the PERFECT-3D Division as a Finalist for its prestigious R&D 100 Award.

Renaissance’s entry, in the Rapid Prototyping Category, was for On-Demand 3D-Printing of Ceramic Tooling for Investment Castings. The entry chronicled the PERFECT-3D Division’s experience and expertise in the rapid and cost effective application of its patent-pending technology for 3D-printed ceramic cores, molds, and filters for the investment casting industry, This capability has demonstrated a wide range of benefits, including up to 90% reduction in product development cycle times, significant reductions in non-recurring costs for castings, and elimination of expensive tools and dies.

Robert Morris, Renaissance President and co-founder, expressed his appreciation for the recognition and the outstanding contributions from the PERFECT-3D engineers and their extended team. “We are honored to be recognized by R&D Magazine, particularly considering the other award entrants that include some of the most prestigious labs and biggest companies in the world. We were fortunate to be part of a great team that included the US Air Force Lifecycle Management Division and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. We work hard every day to live up to the standard set by this level of recognition.”

Morris noted that over the past year, the PERFECT-3D Division has extended its reach beyond R&D, with entry into the broader commercial marketplace. “We now have multiple foundries evaluating our 3D-printed engineered filters, aerospace companies and military organizations considering our molds, and other foundries embracing our 3D-printed cores. We are expanding our capacity to address these needs and look forward to continued growth in 2019. The R&D 100 recognition gives us a leg-up in further establishing our credibility in the marketplace.”
