This white paper comes on the heels of the January 31st release by Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment Ellen Lord of CMMC v1.0. The CMMC v1.0 makes clear that all contractors must achieve cybersecurity mandates appropriate to their level to be eligible to bid on contracts with the DoD.

The new standard also emphasizes the department’s commitment to ensuring CMMC is not a burden on small to medium sized companies.
