NASA astronaut Serena Auñón-Chancellor will answer questions from students at The Mandelstam School in South Miami at 11:45 a.m. EST Friday, Dec. 7. Students and staff from St. Thomas Episcopal School, which is also in South Miami, will attend. The diverse classes include Cuban-American students.

The event will be held at The Mandelstam School at 8530 SW 57th Ave., South Miami. Media interested in covering should contact Magdalena Auñon Maury at mmaury@tmsedu.org or 305-662-2736.

Linking students directly to astronauts aboard the space station provides unique, authentic experiences designed to enhance student learning, performance and interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Astronauts living in space on the orbiting laboratory communicate with NASA’s Mission Control Center in Houston 24 hours a day through the Space Network’s Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS).
