ONR Awards Boeing $23 Million To Finish Free Electron Laser Design

By Geoff Fein The Navy has awarded Boeing [BA] an additional task order of $23 million to complete the design of the 100-kilowatt Free Electron Laser (FEL) lab demonstrator, the company reported. The order is part of a Navy contract, valued at up to $163 million, which is the result of a competition based on preliminary designs provided in March.
