Navy Budget Plans Outline Short-Term Drop In Ships

The Navy’s number of combat ships will fall below 280 in the short term before returning to higher numbers over the next five years, according to budget information released by the service on Wednesday as the Pentagon rolled out its fiscal 2014 spending proposal.
