Massachusetts State Police to Pilot Test AS&E’s Small X-Ray System

The Massachusetts State Police are set to pilot test a miniaturized backscatter imaging system under development by American Science and Engineering [ASEI]. The Advanced X-Ray Imaging Single-sided System (AXISS) is being developed through the Pentagon's Technical Support Working Group and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate. AXISS is a trailer-mounted and robot-towed Z Backscatter X-Ray system to allow remote scanning of vehicles for vehicle-borne improvised explosives devices although it can also be used for scanning packages…
