House Draft Bill Would Prohibit Ending Construction on Alternative Site for TATB Production

The House passed on a voice vote this week an amendment by Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) to H.R. 8997 to protect the construction of the High Explosive Synthesis, Formulation, and Production facility at the Pantex Plant in Amarillo in his district. The House is considering H.R. 8997--the fiscal 2025 Department of Energy (DoE) funding bill. The Biden administration has zeroed funding for the Amarillo project, but Congress added $108 million in fiscal 2023 and $83 million in fiscal 2024. The…
