The Pentagon inspector general’s office has opened an investigation into Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s use of the Signal messaging app to discuss plans for military strikes in Yemen. In a memo sent to Hegseth on Thursday, the DoD IG confirms it opened the inquiry in response to a request from the leaders of the Senate Armed Services Committee to look into the “Signalgate” incident. “The objective of this evaluation is to determine the extent to which the Secretary of Defense…
