Commerce Department Establishes Board For National First Responder Network

Taking another step in the creation of a nationwide broadband network that would serve first responders, the acting Secretary of Commerce yesterday announced the first 12 members of the board for the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet). FirstNet was launched earlier this year through a congressional bill to create a next-generation, interoperable public safety broadband network.
