CBP Interested In On-The-Move Facial Comparison Tech At Border Entry Points

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is conducting market research on facial comparison technology to identify travelers as they enter pedestrian checkpoints in high throughput border environments. The Aug. 5 Request for Information for on-the-move facial comparison technology would support segmenting travelers by risk as they enter the U.S., CBP said. CBP would process captured facial images through its Traveler Verification Service that houses a database of travel document source photos for matching the live images against. The agency wants to…
