U.S. To Ship Drones To Iraqis, White House Confirms

The United States is moving quickly to provide the Iraqi government with additional military equipment such as unarmed drones to help Baghdad counter a strengthening al-Qaeda-led insurgency, White House confirmed on Monday. White House spokesman Jay Carney said the White House will supply 10 ScanEagle unmanned aircraft built by Boeing [BA] subsidiary Insitu in the weeks ahead and 48 Ravens made by AeroVironment [AVAV] to the Iraqis later this year. “We're accelerating our foreign military sales deliveries,” Carney said.
