SRA International recently said it has agreed to acquire the National Security Consulting business of the consulting and technology solutions firm MorganFranklin, giving it a position on the key communications contract with the Army as well as broadening subject matter expertise.
Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in mid-December, were not disclosed.
SRA said the deal will expand its defense, national security and health portfolios as well as expanding its relationship with existing customers, such as the Veterans Administration, through additional opportunities associated with contracting vehicles moving to SRA in the acquisition.
MorganFranklin leads a joint venture that is one of 20 contract awardees on the Army’s Global Tactical Advanced Communications Systems and Services contract, which is worth $10 billion over the next five years. MorganFranklin’s national security business is also an awardee under the United States Government’s Omnibus Network Enterprise contract to provide information technology and communications support services to the Defense Information Systems Agency, DoD, and other government agencies.
MorganFranklin’s national security unit has 180 employees with expertise in C4ISR, continuity of operations and emergency planning, information assurance and cyber security, intelligence analysis, and project management office support. Most of the employees work at customer locations, which are mainly in the Washington, D.C. area and Tampa, Fla.
MorganFranklin, which is based in Northern Virginia and London, is divesting its national security business to focus on business consulting and its financial management, performance improvement and technology capabilities.
