General Dynamics [GD] selected Rolls-Royce [RR] to provide 589 MTU Series 199 diesel engines worth $122 million for the new SCOUT Specialist Vehicle (SV) for the UK Army, Rolls-Royce said on May 27.The 8V 199 TE21 engine has a power output of 600 kilowatts, making it the most powerful engine in the 199 series, the company said.The SCOUT SVs will be delivered by GD UK in six variants and “will form the backbone of the British Army’s future fleet of…
