Rep. King Says DHS Delaying Release of Transit Security Grant Funds

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is to blame for delays in awarding grant funds from prior fiscal years for transit security, charges Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), the ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee. King, in a statement on Monday, said that DHS has delayed the release of $769 million in transit security grants through FY '10, including $421 million as of 2009, for spending by transit agencies throughout the country.
