Rear Adm. William Landay on Tuesday was assigned program executive officer for ships (PEO Ships), the Pentagon said. Landay is currently serving as chief of naval research and director, Test and Evaluation and Technology Requirements, N091, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, according to the Navy. Landay will take over the position last held by Rear Adm. Charles Goddard, who was removed from office in July.
