Obama Nominates TRADOC Commander As Next Army Chief

By Ann Roosevelt President Barack Obama yesterday nominated Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, commanding general of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, as the next Army Chief of Staff. Pending Senate approval, Dempsey would follow the 36th Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey, who retires this spring after more than 40 years in the service.
