Navy Takes Delivery Of Third LCS

The Navy accepted delivery yesterday of the third Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) and plans to commission the USS Fort Worth in September, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) said. Fort Worth competed acceptance trials in May that found minor deficiencies that Rear Adm. James Murdoch, the program executive officer for the LCS, said at the time were quickly correctable, and that it had far fewer problems than the first ship, the USS Freedom.
