Navy Considering Expansion of BAMS-D Program

PALMDALE, Calif. -- With the recent addition of three Air Force Global Hawk unmanned aircraft to their fleet, Navy officials are exploring options on possibly expanding its Broad Area Maritime Surveillance Demonstrator (BAMS-D) program, according to two senior industry officials.  The BAMS-D unmanned aerial vehicle is based off the Block 10 version of the Air Force's Global Hawk unmanned aerial surveillance platform built by Northrop Grumman [NOC].
