Missouri Researcher Helping Army to Reinforce Buildings Against Explosions

The Univ. of Missouri says that one of its researchers is working with a fabric that can withstand tremendous force in order to protect buildings from explosion or impact. Sarah Orton, assistant professor of civil engineering in the school's College of Engineering, has focused on using carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), a fabric that has been used in California since the 1980s to protect buildings from earthquakes.
