DNDO Issues BAA for Airborne Radiological Sensor System

The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the Airborne Radiological Enhanced-sensor System (ARES) for an Advanced Technology Demonstration. DNDO is seeking innovative research and development that will result in improved methods to detect and localize radiological sources from an airborne platform. The desired technology will be able to rapidly determine if a radiological or nuclear source is present while in flight over a wide variety of environments including maritime, urban and rural locales. DNDO seeks responses to two topics under the BAA. The first is for sensors for improved aerial radiological and nuclear detection. The second is algorithms for improved aerial radiological and nuclear detection. Sol. No. HSHQDC-12-R-00065. Respond by July 20.
