*The Marine Corps says it plans to award a potential $67 million contract to American Science and Engineering [ASEI] for maintenance and training on fielded Z Backscatter Van Military Trailers. The expected award date is Aug. 9. AS&E also makes the ZBV Mil Trailers.

*Smiths Detection has installed its eqo millimeter wave-based whole body imaging systems at three South Korean airports marking the first deployment in Asia for the system. Three systems are being used as additional screening for passengers travelling through Gimpo, Gimhae and Jeju airports. The eqo system is also installed at Heathrow and Gatwick in the United Kingdom.

*Customs and Border Protection has taken delivery of the first re-winged P-3 Orion maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft that was upgraded by Lockheed Martin [LMT]. The upgrade is expected to provide increased availability and reliability and add 20 more years to the service life of the aircraft. CBP will receive up to 14 upgraded P-3s with deliveries planned through 2015. The upgrade includes a new metal allow that is five times more corrosion resistant.

*Raytheon [RTN] has delivered its third Mobile Nuclear Radiation Detection System to Florida’s Department of Transportation. The MNRDS is a mounted in a sports utility vehicle and provides the ability to detect and identify nuclear radiation in mobile and stationary operations using advanced spectroscopic technology. The system will expand the state’s capability to protect against nuclear threats on highways, bridges, overpasses, tunnels, ports of entry, and public venues.

The Secret Service has awarded CEIA’s U.S. division a $30,606 contract for the company’s desktop Bottled Liquid Analyzer. CEIA’s EMA-MS system was added to the Transportation Security Administration’s Qualified Products List in the spring (TR2, May 12).
