Air Force Holds U-2 Spy Fleet Pending Global Hawk Fielding

Air Force officials recently said they remained committed to keeping their fleet of Cold War-era U-2 spy planes flying, hinting at further delaying the planned 2012 transition to the unmanned RQ-4 Global Hawk. "We will not transition out of U-2 until we're sure that Global Hawk can provide the requirements and the capability that have been established in that program," Lt. Gen.
