House Appropriations Chair Proposes Short-Term Continuing Resolution

Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-N.J.), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, has introduced a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the federal government running until Dec. 22.

The CR is intended to give Congress more time to reach agreement on fiscal year 2018 funding levels and finish the 12 FY 2018 appropriations bills, Frelinghuysen said in a statement Dec. 2. The current CR took effect Oct. 1 and expires Dec. 8.

The House Rules Committee is scheduled to consider the new CR Dec. 5. The full House and Senate are both expected to pass the measure sometime this week.
