Senator Urges Pentagon To End Contract Delays That Threaten Scranton AAP Jobs

Sen. Robert Casey (D-Pa.) yesterday released a letter to the Army's chief acquisition official urging an end to contract delays that could cause 50 layoffs at Scranton Army Ammunition Plant (AAP). In his letter to Heidi Shyu, assistant secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics & Technology, Casey said there shouldn’t be layoffs because of bureaucratic delays and after investing $50 million to upgrade the facility the Pentagon has an interest in seeing its work continue. “Scranton’s Army Ammunition Plant…
