SPA Names William Rittershaus as Director of Huntsville Operations

PR Newswire

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc., (SPA) has named William (Bill) Rittershaus as the Director of Huntsville Operations. Mr. Rittershaus will be responsible for business strategy and development in pursuit of markets and opportunities in the Huntsville, Alabama, area with a focus on Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) and hypersonics-related efforts.

A retired United States Air Force Colonel, Mr. Rittershaus brings a wealth of experience in acquisition program and portfolio management, space systems acquisition and operations, and Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) operations. During his 23-year USAF career, he led various organizations that oversaw the development, planning, programming and purchase of Air Force space and tactical airpower programs, as well as operations of global space systems and launch facilities. Notably, he held the positions of Vice Commander for the 50th Space Wing at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, and Launch Group Deputy Commander and Range Management Squadron Commander at Cape Canaveral, Florida. Earlier in his career, he was a certified missile combat crew commander and trained and evaluated hundreds of crew members and facility managers.

More recently, Bill was the on-site lead for two years supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) in their management of CPS to include assisting with the flight testing of CPS. OSD then selected him to monitor the high priority Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program where he represented OSD interest during GBSD technical reviews.

“Col Rittershaus’ experience in the space, missile and hypersonics communities will provide tremendous benefits as we grow our services support in the Huntsville, Alabama area,” said Dr. William Vantine, SPA’s President and CEO. “Bill’s recent work with OSD supporting the CPS and GBSD programs was recognized at the highest levels of the department. We are excited to have someone with his experience and professionalism lead our efforts in Huntsville.”
