The Navy said this week that the first of the America-class (LHA-6) amphibious assault ships has completed acceptance trials without any major deficiencies. The future USS America underwent testing of its major combat, propulsion, communications, navigation and aviation systems during the trials off the coast of Pascagoula, Miss. Jan. 31.
