DRS Doubles Capacity to Support Coast Guard Aircraft

DRS Technologies, the U.S.-based subsidiary of Italy's Finmeccanica, has opened its second Heavy Aircraft Maintenance Facility in Elizabeth City, N.C., doubling the capacity of its current facility that supports the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the HC-130 and other Coast Guard and Department of Homeland Security aircraft. The new 80,000 square-foot facility will include structural, mechanical and electrical shops. DRS opened the first facility in 2006 with 100 employees.
