 Army Materiel Command Prepares For Civilian Workforce Reductions

Army Materiel Command (AMC) yesterday said it has completed its analysis and identified civilian job reductions to meet funding targets set by the Secretary of Defense. AMC was directed to eliminate 1,440 civilian positions no later than Sept. 30, 2012. Those reductions would lower the total civilian strength to 67,000 across AMC’s 11 subordinate commands and two separate reporting activities, the command said in a statement.
