Three Companies Announce Bids For South Korea’s Tanker Program

Airbus, Boeing [BA] and Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI) said Monday they entered bids for South Korea’s aerial refueling tanker competition. Boeing said it offered its KC-46, which is also the next-generation tanker it is developing for the U.S. Air Force, while Airbus bid with its A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT). IAI spokeswoman Eliana Fishler said Monday the company would offer a pre-owned B767-300ER, which is originally developed by Boeing. Fishler said IAI specializes in heavy modification of aircraft.
