Microsoft Selects AOptix Iris Recognition System

Microsoft [MSFT] has selected the AOptix Technologies' InSight 2 meter stand-off iris recognition system for secure area access control at its Global Security Operations Center in Washington. Insight automates biometric image acquisition of irises and provides verification of a subject's identity in 2 seconds, AOptix says. Data centers and security operations are two types of high-risk facilities that are addressable by this new partnership between Microsoft and AOptix, AOptix says.
