Idaho National Lab Offers License for Explosives Detection System

The Energy Department's Idaho National Laboratory is offering the opportunity to license, further develop, use and commercialize its Idaho Explosives Detection System (IEDS), a non-intrusive, non-contact inspection system that can, in five minutes, detect explosives hidden in a small cargo truck or similar vehicle. The IEDS uses neutron technology in a portal-type configuration. Vehicles being inspected would be required to stop within the system's inspection zone and occupants would have to exit.
